The event is held on‘greenfield’ parkland and as such there are sections in the park that have undulating surfaces and gradients. Gateways has been planned to try and make the site as accessible as possible.

Access around the venue, both approach and inside

There are two routes into Aireville Park that are relatively unhindered with good tarmac pathways leading to the event entrance gates.

From the north west off Gargrave Road:
Pavement access is available from Gargrave Road to Aireville Park and Craven Leisure Centre. From Gargrave Road to the Leisure Centre (250m) it is a slight downhill gradient (uphill on exit).

Where the road ends at the Leisure centre car park there is a wide level tarmac surfaced path that leads to the event entrance gates. From the Leisure Centre car park to the event entrance gates (230m). The distance from Gargrave Road to the entrance gates is 480m. There are no steps to encounter.

From the south east off Broughton Road:
From Broughton Road, and directly opposite Skipton Railway Station, there is a short section of road (50m), medium gradient, to the canal swing bridge. The entrance to Aireville Park is directly at the other side of the canal bridge where there is wide tarmac surfaced path that leads to the event entrance gates. This path has a slight incline. The distance from Broughton Road to the event entrance gates is 480m.

Parking and Drop off

There are Disabled parking spaces for Blue Badge visitors at Craven Leisure Centre car park. Please bear in mind that the Leisure Centre will be open and car parking will be limited. Parking is not pre-bookable and is only available on a first come/first served basis. The postcode for this parking is BD23 1QR.

A Drop Off point is located at Craven Leisure Centre Car Park BD23 1QR. The distance from the car park and Drop Off location to the event entry gates is 230m.

Local Public Transport

The nearest transport hub to Aireville Park is Skipton Railway Station. It is 560m (8 min walk) from the station entrance to the event entrance gates.

Personal Assistant Tickets at no additional cost

If you are a deaf or disabled person requiring full time 1:1 support from a personal assistant you can apply for an extra ticket, free of charge. You will need to fill in the PA application form and provide proof of eligibility.

Please note that the ticket for the person who needs 1:1 support at all times from the Personal Assistant should be purchased in advance of completing this form as you will need to provide details of the individual’s ticket number/booking reference.

Eligibility
The following forms of evidence make the individual automatically eligible:-

  • Front page of DLA / PIP
  • Front page of Attendance Allowance letter
  • Evidence that registered severely sight impaired
  • Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
  • Credability’s (Access Card)

If you are eligible for a free personal assistant ticket please complete the application form and email it together with your form of evidence to access@gatewaysfestival.co.uk

You will only be contacted by Gateways if your application does not meet the criteria.

If you meet the criteria and your application is successful you will not hear from us. To collect your free carer ticket go to the on-site ticket office located just before the entrance gates. Please bring some form of ID with you and a copy of your application.
Please remember the person who needs 1:1 support from the Personal Assistant should have purchased their ticket. The free ticket is only for the personal assistant/carer.

Box Office

The Box office is located just before the event entrance gates. A hearing loop is installed at the Box Office.

Assistance Dogs

Guide dogs i.e. assistance dogs trained to lead blind and visually impaired people around obstacles are allowed.

Strobe Lighting

Please be aware certain performances may use strobe lighting/lasers without announcement which may affect people with photo sensitive epilepsy.

Viewing Platform

A wheelchair accessible viewing platform will be located adjacent to the front of house mixing tower. This will be approximately 50m from the front of stage with good sight lines.

Please note the platform has limited capacity (+1 PA only). Seating is not available.

Accessible Toilets

Wheelchair accessible toilet units will be available at the following locations and will be clearly marked:
  • Viewing platform
  • Integrated within general toilet provision

Medical and Welfare Facilities

There is full medical provision available during the event.
