As we head to the two month countdown and in continuation of our series looking at the big names at Gateways Festival, this July, we take a stop off in Nottingham to speak to none other than Saturday headliner Jake Bugg.
In between touring and celebrating the tenth anniversary of his first album, Jake kindly spoke to us to see how they are planning to bring the noise right before the fireworks go off on Saturday evening.
”Water, beers and a lighter are essentials.”
“We might be playing a couple of new songs however we always play all the songs everyone knows too, So I’d probably say playing the whole set is what we’re most looking forward to.”
“We’ve got a couple of crew members from York so we know Yorkshire and in particular York very well. Best thing – the pubs!”
“New music and a load of festivals plus it’s the 10th anniversary of album one which we can’t quite believe so we’ll have a few things in store to celebrate that.”
“A brilliant gig. We’re a live band, we’ve really missed it so we’ll put our hearts into it.”
“What about ‘trouble at mill’ actually I think that’s a Nottingham phrase haha!”
“We normally have a good look around and see what grabs us to be honest.”
Take it all in Jake, that’s the ticket. What’s not to enjoy really – Yorkshire, The Dales, tons of live music and that’s not even fully scratching the surface of what’s set to be a brilliant weekend in Skipton. Thanks for setting us straight Jake and we look forward to ensuring you always have enough beers when you hit the main stage on Saturday 23rd July at Aireville, Park
